  Have been to the new Emergency Department recently with severe back pain and difficulty walking. I was rapidly assessment by a Senior specialist without long wait times, quickly investigated -had blood tests and a CT scan, treatment initiated, and back home within 3 hours. Very pleased with their service.

  The staff and doctors here are absolutely excellent. The meals are restaurant quality and I can say that this hospital certainly beats anything Sydney has to offer in the way of private health treatment.

  Previously as soon as we came out of surgery the hospital would phone the other half and advise that the patient was out of surgery , in recovery and all was ok. This didn't happen and at 3 pm I phoned the hospital and found out my wife was back in the ward. Her belongings were left downstairs and she didn't receive them , including her glasses, until 10.30 pm.

  She was in the hospital at 7.30 as requested and went to surgery at 9.45am.On the way to surgery my wife asked the nurse to check her compression stockings and the nurse had to adjust them as they weren't fitted properly and were cutting off the circulation in her feet

  Both my wife and I have been patients at LMPH previously and the treatment and care provided was first class.On my wife's most recent stay in this hospital though , it was a completely different story.

  I have had a couple of surgeries at this hospital & I will personally never step foot in there again for medical treatment, in fact I would rather be operated on a 12 lane freeway before going anywhere near Lake Macquarie Private Hospital again.

  Only issue is there's only street parking for visitors which is not pram friendly, but perhaps that's a council matter?

  When my wife was told she could go home she was asked what she wanted for meals ( no menu any more, just a chick with an Ipad) She was asked what she wanted, she said she wanted nothing as she was going home, but the chick with the Ipad kept insisting so in the end she ordered meals for the next day despite the fact she was going home the next morning
